Create a platform that enables (aspiring) dancers to become the best all round dancers, by providing them with the tools to accomplish their goals and eventually dreams. This platform is accessible offline and online, on social media and in real life dance classes.

Next Dance Wave is an open community for all dancers aspiring to get better. If you are a dancer, you probably know what it feels like to start out, longing to get better and one day roll and work with the top dancers and choreographers in the world.
 

design

I have designed the external identity of this brand/platform which gives a hip, young, dynamic and high quality feeling.

challenge

The logo had to provide an impact and that it gives a dance feeling. It was also important from the customer’s point of view that it had symmetry and that it felt like a whole.

outcome

The waves and the dance move (feet) that slide through “DANCE” gives the logo a dynamic effect that fits well with the concept.

We had designed several logo concepts and chose one to further develop it. In this design the most important elements
came to the fore, symmetry and dynamics.

MJ's moonwalk

The hidden elements in the logo that emerge from a negative space are the feet (in a moonwalk pose) and the waves (at the bottom of "DANCE" and the top of "WAVE"). These elements are very characteristic of the concept and can be seen in the corporate identity.
